ABOUT SAS

Strategic Actions Society (SAS) is a non-profit, non-political and non-government organization that committed to enabling poor household in community to improve their lives and overcome poverty. It was established as a consequence of outstanding social work of a number of dedicated hilly young people in 1999.We started our endeavor in same year from the place where it emerged. This was an infamous indigenous people village in which poverty experience of villager is higher. SAS is owed to the villager of whom all are poor for their cooperation, in growing itself.

SAS is working together with the community, Funding Agency/Donor, Community based organizations, the Government and NGOs and civil society organizations to subdue root causes of poverty with a view to an equitable and just society where people has overcome poverty and able to fulfill basic needs and, their rights are established. Our interventions include many sectoral areas like Education, Health and Nutrition, Agriculture, Environment and Biodiversity, Water and sanitation, Disability, Small Enterprise development, Legal awareness, reaching around the people of Chittagong Hill Tracts region of Bangladesh.

 
 

Vision:

SAS envisions an equitable and just society where peoples have overcome their poverty and able to fulfill basic needs and, their rights are established. Mission: SAS works together with poor and marginalized people, by utilizing their human potentials, to eliminate poverty and elevate the quality of life. It strives with all commitment to make the people active against the forces and structures that revive vicious cycle of poverty, inequality and injustice and involve them in enabling process of sustainable and pro -people development in the society.

Core Values of SAS: As an organization, SAS fosters up the values itself as follows:

  • Justice: We are the supporters of all justice and are struggling for it.
  • Honesty and Integrity: We keep own honesty to all principles of organization and pay integrity to the interest of SAS.
  • Gender equity: We try to respect of each other and believe that the women folk are human being too. They have equal rights as human being.

  • Pro-Poor Position: We hold our position in favor of poor and marginalized people and towards their wider interest.
  • Sense of Responsibility: Carrying out of respective responsibility allocated by the organization is our pledge. This way, we ensure our social liability/ obligation.
  • Discipline, Participation and Cooperation: Discipline is a door to reach at the goal, Participation is the process of it and the cooperation expedites our movement.
