On-going Programs: Based on the community demand and mandate of vision of organization, we are planning to start few new programs and some are still going on and some are completed so far. The programs and project, which under are being carried out by the organization are out lined with briefing its goal, strategy or other particular. Child Rights & Early Childhood Development Program (CRECD) Goal: To participate with the community in protection of Child Rights and enable the children to develop their potential and lay a strong foundation so that the children's will be able to cope with future or changing situation. Strategy: SAS tries to disseminate all other information on Child Rights among the parent, Caregiver, NGOs, CBOs and Other concerned through an interactive and effective communicable way. This also provides facilitative support to the community as well as parents to raise their overall ability to meet the needs of child. Moreover, we some times provide direct support to children as and when deemed to do so. Program for Access to Community Education (PACE) Goal: To continue learning facility for drop out children from formal /institutional educational set up and thereby develop human resource for future cope up. Strategy: This is a partnership program with BRAC- ESP. ESP provides Financial and Technical support and SAS play the program implementation role taking into consideration of local geo-socio-economic situation. With close relationship and support by the community, SAS establish non-formal learning center and provides back up support to the learner and their parent in running the center by appointing a teacher from respective community. Disabled Development & Rehabilitation Program (DDRP) Goal: To create a friendly environment for PWD where all opportunities are available and rights are ensured to express themselves. Strategy: Utilizing the local resource and local technology, the program tries to continue services to the person with disability. This is a service-oriented program but rights issues are address therein. Since, the peoples with the disability are most vulnerable and marginalized in Bangladeshi society, they should be provided necessary support first and then should try toMicro Finance Program (MFP) Goal: To establish human dignity of poor and backwards families through socio-economic development. Strategy: This program is dedicated to economic empowerment and to provide financial and technical support to target people such as poor, land and assetless peoples. MFP tries to mobilize local resource by collecting micro saving and to gather the target families into institutional framework and then after extends institutional support towards their development efforts so that leadership of excluded peoples are developed and a holistic development process can easily be ensured. Water and Sanitation Program (WATSAN) Goal: To reduce the incidence of water borne disease and thereby improve health situation of peoples. Strategy: in line with national policy for watsan and local demand, SAS adopts a strategy to run the program. This strategy include to social mobilization and awareness building, installation of water technology, Behavioral Change Communication, and Village sanitation center establishment. This program also tries to maximize the access of rural people to watsan facilities by localizing the technology and low cost inputs supply. Governance and Social Justice Promotion Program (GSJP) Goal: Building up a broadband coalition with different development actors with a view to enabling the environment in favor of marginal section of the society. Strategy: This program is dedicated to establish a mostly optimum level of quality of governance related institutions, so that they could provide a better response to the community people. Community Empowerment Project (CEP) Goal: The goal of the project is to help the villagers develop their organizational and leadership abilities to identify problems and implement effective development activities at their own decision to meet common needs. Strategy: Community Empowerment Project is a component of "Promotion of Development and Confidence-Building in the Chittagong Hill Tracts run by UNDP. SAS is assigned for one Upazila called Jurachary under Rangamati. Village communities are organized into Para (village) Development Communities (PDCs) and are provided facilitation support to plan, implement and monitor their own self-help programs. Health Care and Food Security Program (HCFS) Goal: To ensure primary health care services and food security of poor households by increasing availability, access and consumption of micro nutrient rich food. Strategy: Partnership and resource sharing with potential donor and program participants is our priority strategy. Landless and marginal family focusing on women and children are considered as frontline participant of this program and an integrated plan and effort is taken to make sustain the activities and impact of it. Program on Environment and Conservation of Biodiversity (PECOB) Goal: To contribute in preservation of biodiversity and to motivate the people taking his/her own part in Environment Protection by raising collective voices and action. |
